Daydreaming in Cairo

SYNOPSIS

Adam is an aspiring Egyptian writer who has just returned to Cairo after completing his studies in the United States. Why did he return? He doesn’t know, but this question leads him to undertake his first major writing project. In his struggle to pen the first words of his memoirs, Adam is swept away various flashbacks from his past, and he finds himself reminiscing about Old Cairo, Sara, his lost and only love, and Gedo, his grandfather and only connection to Egypt’s glorious past.

Adam’s daydreams come across as disparate thoughts at first but as the pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place, they turn out to be the keys to understanding himself, Egypt, and his journey home.
